Open Hand Children’s Home

Open Hand Children’s Home was started by Alice Wanjiru Mukui in 2003 in the slums of Nairobi. Since that time with God’s help and the financial support of many, Alice moved the orphanage to her family farm land. Open Hand Children's Home provides a loving family environment for abandoned and orphaned children, from infants to adolescents, offering them education, food, and shelter. Situated on a farm with chickens and crops, the home utilizes solar power for electricity. The children are nurtured in faith, learning about Jesus and the Bible, and are supported to pursue their potential, with some attending college and others returning to serve the orphanage.

You can help support a child each month which will help pay for food, clothing and a Bible-based education. All support goes directly to Open Hand Children’s Home.

Kenyan Churches

START currently partners with 3 churches in Kenya led by pastors who are biblically trained and passionate about sharing the gospel. For ten years, Blake Lasslett worked in Kenya equipping these men for gospel ministry and his legacy endures through their work. START provides financial support and organizes short-term mission trips to further train and encourage these men and their ministries.

START has sent support for Christian books and teaching materials, seeds crops during the drought and other special needs of the church pastors and their families.

All financial support goes directly to the ministry need.
